Definition:

Similar to phobic stimulus or trigger, an object of fear is the focus of a phobia. A particular phobia may center on a single object of fear, such as spiders, or may have many objects of fear.

For example, for those suffering from claustrophobia, any situation in which the sufferer feels trapped could be considered an object of fear.

Examples: Janet's fear of heights has many objects of fear, including tall buildings and mountaintops.
