Definition:

Vertigo is a medical condition that leads to a sense of spinning, dizziness and disorientation. It can be caused by a variety of illnesses including inner ear disorders and certain brain conditions.

Vertigo is often confused with acrophobia, since heights can trigger vertigo. However, the conditions are very different. Only a trained medical professional can properly diagnose vertigo or acrophobia.
