THIS IS ME!
- This is exactly my problem! For years I thought it was social anxiety, or breathing problems when my hands went numb and I needed to get out of the car--and I could never figure out why it only happened to me in a car with other people but NEVER while I was alone. I could drive from coast-to-coast by myself and not even think twice about a panic attack, but I get worried when I'm told my friends think we should take my car to the concert a few hours from here, or worse yet, they want to take theirs and cram 3 people in the back. I just tell them "I get car sick very easily" if I'm not driving, however, if I am driving I make a story up about needing to take a leak or get something at a convenience store to buy me 5-10 minutes standing up and walking around. It's ruined moments in my life. I'm scared to take road trips, go to concerts, anything that involves more than 20 minutes in a car with others. Strangely, this never occurs with my parents and I think that's because I trust them.
